Services

Our programs serve the Western Massachusetts community – crossing all economic and social lines.

Jewish Life
Jewish Life programs focus on building the resiliency and wellbeing of our Jewish Community across the life span. Grounded in the Jewish value of Tikun Olam; repairing the world, JFS Jewish Life programs provide outreach, education, and volunteer opportunities in collaboration with Jewish agencies, synagogues, day schools and other groups and organizations.

Older Adults
Serving the unique needs of older adults, and their families and/or caregivers, JFS offers a wide range of services, from Guardianship, Counseling and Geriatric Care Assesment to Caregiver Support Groups, as well as resources and referrals when needed. Many people count on us to help them assess and find the best ways to solve problems regarding their own or loved ones well-being.  Support to “Baby Boomers” caring for their parents, and the elders themselves, require a multitude of services, now more than ever.

Behavioral Health
JFS is known for compassionate, caring and professional Behavioral Health services. Our licensed psychotherapists offer support to individuals and families across the economic spectrum. Our clients come from all walks of life. Language capacity provided by our multi-cultural, multi-lingual team includes: English, Arabic, Burmese, French, Karen, Kinyarwanda, Kiswahili, Nepali, Somali, Thai, and Farsi.

Citizenship and Immigration Services
The JFS Citizenship and Immigration Program provides a full range of education and representation services.  We have been funded by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and Project Citizenship since 2011.  Our accredited representatives assist and support clients through all phases of their immigration applications, including petitions for legal permanent residence, to bring family members to the United States, and to become citizens.  We also provide free classes to prepare our clients for the citizenship interview.

New American Program
JFS partners with HIAS (formerly the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) to resettle refugees from around the world to our Springfield community– their new home. We provide comprehensive services including case management, job preparation and employment services, school support for parents and students, support for elders, health education and navigation services and counseling.

Volunteer Program
Community members from Hampshire, Hampden, Franklin, and Berkshire counties engage in JFS programs as volunteers—teaching English and citizenship classes, delivering items to families, setting up apartments for new families, managing in-kind donations, and mentoring refugee youth and families.
