Healing the World
Our commitment and responsibility for making the world a better place.
'Healing the World' means that we are not only responsible for the well-being of the Jewish community, but are responsible for the welfare of society at large.
For us social justice is rooted in the Jewish commandment to remember the experience of slavery and the Exodus from Egypt. From this we infer that "we are all harmed by oppression directed at any group or individual. "
To quote from Leviticus 19:33-34:
"The strangers who live with you shall be to you like citizens, and you shall love them as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.”
