Inspiration for the New Year

Dear JFS Community,
Tonight, while JFS is preparing to pick up an Iraqi refugee family of five and settle them in their new home in our community, I am mindful that this is the time of year Jews around the world turn to prayer and contemplation to reflect on where they are and where they are going.
Throughout the year your acts of generosity and kindness--supports the work of JFS in the Jewish community, the community at-large and the far reaches of the globe. The great Jewish Philosopher, Abraham Joshua Heschel, walked down the streets of Selma, Alabama alongside Martin Luther King Jr. Heschel later said ”When I marched in Selma, my legs were praying.”
From our family to yours, we wish you a meaningful Days of Awe and a Sweet New Year.
Bob
