Some days bring unexpected surprises. We recently received a delivery of new furniture from Conklin Office Furniture, and one of the Conklin delivery crew was a former client of JFS! Our Employment Coordinator, Tatyana Abashina, helped Adil Hilal, a refugee from Sudan who came to the U.S. on August 31, 2015, secure employment at Conklin soon after his arrival.
Adil began working at Conkin on December 8, 2015 as a custodian, learned English on the job, and three years later obtained his CDL license. Today, Adil is working in the delivery and shipping department. The General Manager at Conklin told Tatyana that Adil is one of their hardest working and best employees!
