how you can help
Experience the JOY of helping us resettle refugees in our community!
JFS brings hundreds of individuals and families fleeing religous and political persecution in their native countries and resettles them in our Springfield, MA community.
How you can get involved
Get connected to helping JFS resettle refugees by offering help "at the airport," on move in day," fill the refrigerator with food for their first week, provide seasonal clothing--- many are not coming with winter clothing. Transportation is needed for doctors appointments and getting to English classes. You can also help us with cultural orientation, job readiness training and placement, and helping them through family strengthening programs, enabling refugees to become self-supporting and contributing members of our community.
Impact in Our Community
Your support will have a long term impact in our community, by supporting and educating nearly 200 refugees; they add a richness to the tapestry of our community, while bringing a multitude of talents, educational experiences and a readiness to become involved in all aspects of community life.
