Volunteer Spotlight

Hear from a recent JFS mentor and mentee!

Check out this video to hear from JFS volunteer mentor, David Sacks, and 16 year old mentee, Ismail Abdelraham, in conversation as they share their recent experience participating in our JFS Refugee Mentor Program.
Youth mentors step into a young person’s life at a crucial time of development. The LIFE Mentoring Program for Refugee Youth brings youth and adults together to build intercultural relationships and connect young refugees with career and college information, resources, and possibilities! For more information contact Farana Samad, f.samad@jfswm.org, (413) 453-4953, or Evan Bixby at e.bixby@jfswm.org

Your support of our efforts gives refugees a strong start as they begin their new lives in Western Massachusetts and helps refugees become self-reliant and independent members of our community.

JFS has a variety of opportunities for volunteers to support our work with New Americans. From appointment accompaniment to English conversation practice and mentorship, volunteers play an important role in supporting JFS staff and our clients. We invite you to join our team and experience it for yourself!

To volunteer with JFS, please sign up to volunteer! We will contact you shortly after you fill out an application.

Your support helps welcome refugees and give them a strong start in their new lives.
