Many of us are trapped in cycles of shock and trauma since the attacks on Israel. In response, JFS is offering two Zoom programs, the first, Transforming Grief, Building Resilience: An Embodied Practice to Release Trauma will take place October 17th at 7pm, followed by Grief Support with Leah Slivko, LICSW on Monday, October 23rd, 8pm. Pre-Registration will be required for both programs.

Transforming Grief, Building Resilience

Rabbi James Greene, JFS CEO, and Reina Goldberg, facilitator of the JFS Building Resilience Series, will be hosting Transforming Grief, Building Resilience: An Embodied Practice to Release Trauma. Please join us as we hold safe space to release physically held trauma, grief, hurt, fear, loss, anger and stuck emotions. Embodiment practices help us to digest, integrate and metabolize these feelings, moving us out of flight, fight, freeze. Rebalancing the nervous system creates a healthier connection to our bodies, releases tension, and helps build our emotional and physical resilience.

These practices will be body based and not a dialogue. This is a time for self-care and integration.

All ages are welcome, and all exercises can be done seated, standing, or lying down.

Finding a Safe Space to Grieve Together

Join us on Monday, October 23rd, at 8pm on Zoom as we host Leah Slivko, LICSW for Grief Support. Leah is the past clinical supervisor for MILEV, the Crisis Counseling Center in Jerusalem during the Intifada. Leah will hold a supportive space to address the intense emotions many of us are feeling at this time. Please share this with anyone in your community who might be interested in attending. The program is free and open to the public. Pre-Registration is required.

With the unfolding events in Israel and Gaza, many are burdened by conflicting thoughts, feelings, emotions and an overwhelming sense of grief. Joining together in community to share in safe, held space helps to relieve the burden. This is a gathering for respectful sharing and a place to process our thoughts feelings and breathe together. Leah brings her sensitivity and skill as a trauma specialist with a background in crisis work in Israel to JFS for this very special evening of care and support.
